Zest Intentions Ruby Grapefruit & Rosemary Preserve
Citrus and herbal bitter/sweet spread (Heat rating 3/5)

Another belter of a limited edition preserve - begging to be shown off at a posh picnic or pals-round curry night.
BUT WHAT IS IT THOUGH? It's nearly a marmalade. A less sweet one that goes with savoury things.
I've paired sharp ruby grapefruit with fragrant rosemary and a generous hit of red chilli.
Expect a bittersweet flavour, and visible flecks of rosemary for a subtle herbal/aromatic edge which opens the door to using it with all sorts of savouries.
Perfect for grown-up toast. (Pssst .... get yourself some fresh sourdough and proper slightly salted butter ::marriage made in heaven right there, but let's go on:: and spoon some of this on top. Then ... sprinkle just the tiniest amount of your Very Best Special Salt on it. Kablammo! Mic drop. Chef's kiss. Eye roll. Nom nom nom noises. "I'm done" faces.)
Ideal for cheeseboards, pâté, and grazing platters. Have on the side of a curry or serve with poppadoms and yoghurt. Excellent on sourdough or alongside roast pork.
Why the name? My *best intentions* to buy onions at the fruitmarket went awry one day, and I came back with grapefruit so as not to waste a journey, and secretly pleased that I had an excuse to try out a hotter, less sweet preserve that's been in the back of my mind for ages.
I hope you like it :)
