Christmas Market Stall Holder(s) for 2017

stall stall

You need to be trustworthy, reliable & with excellent customer service skills & food safety awareness.

The person should be comfortable working in busy, vibrant and exciting markets and exhibitions, and also able to self-motivate at quieter ones. They should have the aesthetic vision to be able to set up and display the market stall to an appropriate high quality that matches the brand image.

To serve customers at various market stalls in the run up to Christmas. To proactively encourage sales through excellent service and product knowledge. Whether it is helping pick the perfect present, ideal accompaniment to a specific meal, or promoting offers, you will be there to add to the customer experience.

You must have a hard working, positive attitude and love to sell. Smiling is a must!

The role does require some heavy lifting to transport stock and set up the display. Generally you will be physically mobile for the vast majority of this job, as sitting down at a stall is a sure-fire way to discourage customer interest, and you will need to move about the stall to sell. You may be working outdoors in all sorts of weather depending on the event.

Contract dates:
Likely to start in November and be every weekend through until 17th December, depending on events which can be subject to change. Dates are subject to flexibility and agreement between candidate and business.

Each event has its own setup and trading times, so every Saturday and Sunday is likely to be different. Most start around 10am and finish mid-afternoon, but some such as Christmas Lights Switch On events start around midday and finish late afternoon/early evening.

Most of the events / stalls are in Ayrshire, but there are also dates in Glasgow, Paisley, Gourock, Falkirk, Clarkston, Barrhead, Johnstone, Eaglesham and New Lanark which have been set up or are likely. There's no requirement for you to commit to any/all venues or dates, as you can pick & choose which to do in agreement with the business.
Take a look at the confirmed events on the Events page for an indication of the weekend dates and sorts of hours and venues available.
I will be adding to these with more confirmed events as stallholders are approved and as time goes on.
